The Safety Institute of Australia recently called for a wider conversation amongst the industry on the issue of harassment, bullying and abuse in the workplace (see related article). Dr Kelly Johnstone, Chair of the Institute’s think tank the SIA College of Fellows, called on Safe Work Australia to develop a code of practice.
In early May, Safe Work Australia will consider the draft National Guidance – Work-related psychological health and safety: A systematic approach to meeting your duties. This guide will provide clear national guidance for employers on prevention, early intervention and how to support effective recovery from work-related psychological injuries.
